Getting started

What PrivSIP is and how to go from zero to a first call.

PrivSIP is a SIP trunking provider. A SIP trunk connects your phone system (a PBX, a softphone or a UC platform) to the public telephone network, so you can make and receive ordinary phone calls over the internet. PrivSIP runs that connection without identity checks, encrypts it by default and takes payment only in cryptocurrency.

Enter an email address and a password on the sign-up page. That is the whole form: no name, no phone verification and no documents. You land in your dashboard straight away, where you can pick a plan. Prepaid credit can be added once a plan is active.

Usually a few minutes. Activation happens automatically as soon as your crypto payment confirms on-chain, which takes seconds on fast networks and around 10 minutes on Bitcoin or Monero. Your SIP credentials and a ready-made config for your PBX appear in the dashboard the moment the plan is active.

You need something that speaks SIP. That can be a full PBX such as Asterisk, FreePBX or 3CX, a cloud platform such as Microsoft Teams through an SBC, or simply a softphone app on your laptop or phone. If you are not sure which suits you, ask on live chat and an engineer will recommend a setup.

We do not provide free trials, demo accounts or test credit. Because PrivSIP accounts are opened without identity verification, open trial access would be an immediate target for toll fraud and network abuse, putting the call quality and route reputation of every customer at risk. To keep the commitment low instead, the Solo plan is $60 for 30 days with no contract, and a new plan can be refunded within 72 hours of activation, less only the usage recorded on it. Our engineers are also available on live chat to answer any technical question before you subscribe.

Accounts & privacy

What we know about you, what we keep and for how long.

Yes. A PrivSIP account needs an email address and a password, nothing else. We never ask for a name, ID scan, selfie or proof of address to run a SIP trunk. The same goes for phone numbers: any local requirements are handled by PrivSIP, never passed on to you.

It is your login, nothing more. We don't send newsletters, we don't check it against an identity and we never share it. You can use any address you control, including a privacy-focused mailbox or an alias, as long as you keep access to it.

Call detail records (time, from, to, duration and cost) for 30 days, or 7 if you choose, because billing and fraud protection depend on them; SMS delivery records follow the same window, without the message text. SIP traces and registration IPs are kept for 72 hours for troubleshooting, and live-chat transcripts for 90 days. PrivSIP never records call audio. When a window ends, the data is deleted rather than archived.

No. There is no recording feature on the platform, so there is nothing to switch on, either by us or by anyone who asks us to. Media is encrypted with SRTP between your PBX and our edge, and we do not inspect call content.

Use a unique password of at least 8 characters with upper and lower case letters and a number (a symbol makes it stronger), ideally stored in a password manager. Turn on two-factor authentication under Account & Security, so every login also needs a code from an authenticator app, and keep the four recovery codes it gives you somewhere safe. SIP credentials are separate from your login: they are shown once when issued, stored only as a hash, and can be rotated from the dashboard at any time. Fraud Shield spend caps add a second line of defence if a PBX is ever compromised.

Use one of your recovery codes. Turning on two-factor authentication gives you four single-use codes, and a fresh set arrives automatically when the last one is used. To reset a password, open Forgot password on the login page, enter your email, then one recovery code, then choose a new password; at the login code step, a code signs you in if your authenticator is lost (two-factor is then switched off so you can set it up again). PrivSIP sends no reset links and holds no identity documents, so without a recovery code an account cannot be recovered.

Yes, at any time from Account settings in the dashboard. Deletion is immediate and removes the account, trunk, SIP credentials, orders and settings. Call records still inside their 30- or 7-day window are deleted when that window ends; nothing is kept beyond what the privacy policy describes.

Nothing. PrivSIP does not entertain requests for customer data and has no data-sharing, monitoring or access arrangements with any authority or third party. The service is built to hold as little as possible, and what it does hold is deleted on a fixed schedule.

No. PrivSIP does not sell, rent or share customer data for marketing, analytics or any other commercial purpose, and the website has no third-party trackers. Our crypto payment processor receives only the amount, an order reference and a plan description, never your email address.

Plans & billing

Choosing a plan, what is included and how usage is billed.

Pick by the number of people making calls at the same time. Solo (5 channels) suits one to five people, Team (12 channels) small offices, Business (30 channels) growing companies, Contact Center (75 channels) support and sales floors, and Enterprise (180 channels, burst to 360) platforms and large organisations. Every plan runs on the same network with the same encryption and codecs.

A channel is one simultaneous call. Ten channels means ten calls can be in progress at once, inbound and outbound combined. Calls beyond your channel count are rejected with a busy signal rather than charged, so a traffic spike can never surprise you on price.

Outbound calls to any country on the rate deck, one minute for one minute, pooled across the whole trunk. A minute to France counts the same as a minute to the United States. Inbound calls are unlimited on every plan.

From your prepaid credit, at the rate-deck price of the country you call, per second with 1/1 billing: no minimum charge and 1-second increments, so a 40-second call costs exactly 40 seconds. Larger plans pay less than the deck: Team 5% off, Business 10%, Contact Center 15% and Enterprise 20%. Solo pays the deck price.

No. Plans run for 30 days and simply end unless you renew them, because crypto payments cannot be pulled from your wallet. The dashboard reminds you before a plan expires, and renewing early adds 30 days to the current end date.

Yes. Upgrading or downgrading converts the unused days of your current plan into prepaid credit, which you can put towards the new one. Channels and minutes change as soon as the new plan's payment confirms.

No setup fees, no contracts and no surprise "regulatory recovery" lines. You pay the plan price, any usage beyond the bundle, and optional extras such as additional DID numbers. Everything is shown in US dollars before you pay.

Crypto payments

Coins, invoices, confirmations and refunds.

PrivSIP's crypto checkout supports more than 250 coins and tokens, including Bitcoin, Monero, Ethereum, USDT and USDC on several networks, Litecoin, Solana and Tron. Prices are set in US dollars and the rate is locked for 20 minutes while you pay.

Monero hides amounts and addresses on-chain, which makes it the most private option. If you pay with a public-ledger coin such as Bitcoin, sending from a fresh address keeps the payment unlinked from your other activity.

As soon as the payment confirms on-chain. That takes seconds on Solana or Tron and around 10 minutes on Bitcoin or Monero. PrivSIP's payment webhook switches the plan on automatically, so there is no one to wait for.

If a payment arrives short, the invoice stays open and you can send the difference. If you overpay, the extra is added to your account as prepaid credit. If something looks wrong, live chat can match a transaction to your invoice.

The locked rate is released after 20 minutes. Simply open a new invoice from the dashboard. If you already sent funds to an expired invoice, they are still credited once they confirm, at the rate when they arrived.

No. PrivSIP is crypto-only. Card payments would mean collecting cardholder names and billing addresses, and chargebacks would push a fraud premium into every per-minute rate.

Unused prepaid credit can be refunded within 14 days of the top-up, in the coin you paid with, minus the network fee. A new plan can be refunded within 72 hours of activation, less the usage recorded on it: minutes used are valued at the rate-deck price of the destinations called, and any activated DID numbers at their monthly price. Switching plans turns the unused days of your current plan into credit.

DID numbers

Every DID type in every country, porting and caller ID.

Every type of DID number, including local, national, mobile and toll-free, in more than 190 countries. Pick one in the dashboard and it is live in minutes, with no paperwork.

Every plan includes local DID numbers: 3 on Solo, 8 on Team, 20 on Business, 50 on Contact Center and 125 on Enterprise. Additional DIDs start at $0.89 a month each and are paid from prepaid credit.

Yes, and porting is free. Start a port request from the dashboard and an engineer guides you through what your current carrier needs. Your numbers keep working with the old carrier until the port completes.

Yes. Calls can present any number on your PrivSIP account, and numbers you hold with other carriers.

Yes. Calls from numbers you bought from PrivSIP are signed with A-level attestation, and ported-in numbers get A-level once the port completes. Numbers you hold elsewhere get B-level attestation once you confirm you are authorised to use them.

Only when you add it. Emergency calling is an optional add-on per number and needs a registered service address for that number, so emergency services know where to go. Without it, emergency calls are not routed, so keep another way to reach emergency services.

SIP trunk setup

Compatibility, encryption, codecs and configuration.

Anything that speaks standard SIP (RFC 3261): Asterisk, FreePBX, FreeSWITCH, FusionPBX, 3CX, Yeastar, Grandstream UCM, VitalPBX, Kamailio and Microsoft Teams Direct Routing through a certified SBC, plus ordinary softphones and desk phones. The PrivSIP dashboard has ready-to-paste config for the most common ones.

By default. Every new PrivSIP trunk uses SIP over TLS for signalling and SRTP for audio. Plain UDP is still available for older equipment that cannot do TLS, but you have to turn it on deliberately.

Opus and G.722 for HD voice, G.711 µ-law and A-law, G.729, iLBC and GSM, plus T.38 for fax. When two ends of a call disagree, PrivSIP transcodes at the edge, so you never have to match codecs with the far end yourself.

By registration with the SIP username and password from your dashboard, which works behind NAT and dynamic IPs. On any plan you can also lock registration to an IP allow-list. Enterprise plans additionally get a dedicated SBC IP for platforms that prefer static, IP-based peering.

Inbound calls fail over to a destination you choose, such as a second SIP URI, another trunk or a mobile number. Registration also moves between PrivSIP points of presence automatically, so an outage at one site does not drop your trunk.

Yes, sized to each plan to protect you and the network: 3 calls per second on Solo, 6 on Team, 12 on Business, 30 on Contact Center and 60 on Enterprise. Higher limits for dialers are available on request.

API & integrations

Automating your trunk, numbers and billing from your own systems.

Yes. Every account with an active plan or prepaid credit gets the PrivSIP REST API: versioned, JSON over HTTPS, with cursor pagination and idempotency keys on writes. The full reference, with request and response examples in cURL, Node.js and Python, is in the dashboard under Trunk & SIP.

Run calls, messages and the trunk itself from your own code. Place and control calls; send and receive SMS, MMS and faxes; search, order, port and route DID numbers; look up a number's carrier and line type; change failover, spend caps and allowed countries; rotate SIP credentials and manage the IP allow-list; pull call records or export them as CSV; and price a destination before you dial it. It is built for CRMs, dialers, AI voice agents, billing systems and reseller portals.

Yes. The Call Control API places, answers, transfers, bridges and hangs up calls, reads text to the caller in 40+ languages, plays audio, collects keypad digits for IVR menus and streams live audio to your own WebSocket for AI voice agents. API calls use the same channels, rates and Fraud Shield as your PBX, and you can run both side by side. Calls are never recorded by PrivSIP; if you need recordings, record on your own PBX or stream the audio to your own server.

Yes, on SMS-enabled numbers, with MMS in the US and Canada. Send through the Messaging API and receive inbound messages on your webhook. The price depends on the destination and the API returns it before you send. PrivSIP keeps the delivery record (numbers, status, cost) for the same 7 or 30 days as call records, but not the message text once it is delivered.

You request a key from the dashboard and an engineer issues it, usually within minutes. Each key is read-only or full access, can be bound to the IP addresses your servers call from, is shown once and can be revoked at any time. Keys are separate from your login and your SIP password, so a leaked key never exposes either.

Yes. PrivSIP can POST events to your HTTPS endpoint as they happen: calls starting, being answered and completing (with the full call record), digits collected, inbound SMS and faxes, message delivery, your PBX losing or regaining registration, Fraud Shield caps being reached, low balance, port updates and plans about to expire. Every delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256 and retried for 24 hours if your endpoint is down.

20 requests per second per key with bursts to 40, which is far more than a trunk normally needs. Every response carries X-RateLimit headers, and a 429 response says how many seconds to wait. If you sync call records at volume, use the CSV export or the call.completed webhook instead of polling.

Network & reliability

Where the network runs and how it stays up.

The core runs in Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Ashburn, with edge SBCs in 22 points of presence across five continents. Every site runs on hardware we lease in our own racks rather than shared cloud tenancy, and your trunk registers to the nearest healthy point of presence.

Measured availability over the last 365 days is 99.993%, with edge failover in under two seconds. The Enterprise plan adds a contractual 99.99% SLA with service credits; every other plan runs on the same infrastructure on a best-effort basis.

Protection that is on for every trunk: daily spend caps, destination allow-lists, calls-per-second ceilings and detection of international revenue share fraud patterns. If your PBX is ever compromised, the most it can cost you is your cap.

Tier-1 CLI routes only. Your caller ID arrives intact, and PrivSIP does not use grey routes to shave a fraction of a cent off the rate.

Support & acceptable use

Getting help, and what you can use PrivSIP for.

Open live chat from any page. It goes straight to SIP engineers around the clock, the median first reply is under a minute, and you don't need an account to ask a question. There is no ticket queue and no scripted first line.

PrivSIP stands for freedom of communication. We do not ask for a use-case statement and do not police content: business lines, contact centers, automated and outbound campaigns, reselling under your own brand and privacy-sensitive work are all welcome. The acceptable use policy restricts only attacks on the PrivSIP network and activity meant to harm the carriers and operators that use it.

Yes, under your own brand, on any plan. If you need wholesale A–Z rates and weekly settlement, ask live chat about Vault, our wholesale offering for carriers and resellers.

Enforcement starts with a conversation, not a shutdown. If we see a concern, we contact you through the dashboard or live chat and give you a reasonable chance to resolve it. Where action is needed, we apply the narrowest measure first, such as limiting one destination.

Still curious?

Ask the people who run the network.

Live chat goes straight to SIP engineers, day and night. No account and no ticket needed.
